Chicago's Motorcycle Lawyer

Not just a lawyer who rides, a rider who practices law.

As a life long motorcycle enthusiast, I have experienced things on two wheels most people have not.  This unique perspective is what gives me a level of expertise in legal issues and cases that motorcyclists face when they get into an accident or get a ticket while on two wheels.

Insurance agencies are not looking out for you. They are looking out for themselves and their bottom line. You need an attorney that not only understands the law, but as a motorcyclist, also understands the traffic dangers caused by drivers and distracted motorists to provide you with motorcycle legal advice.

Motorcycle Accident Injuries

Not all injuries resulting from motorcycle collisions are immediately realized. A motorcyclist can walk away from an accident and still suffer from latent injuries. Examples of some of those injuries are concussions, fractured vertebrae, herniated discs, back injuries, and injuries to muscles and tendons. It is important to seek medical attention immediately following an accident.

If you have been in a motorcycle accident and have questions about your rights please contact Joel Rabb, Chicago’s Motorcycle Lawyer today.

Motorcycle Ticket Defense

Let’s be honest, as motorcyclists, we know that we are often the subject of more attention from law enforcement than car drivers. Maintaining your license and therefore your freedom of movement is dependent on keeping a clean driving record. The rule when pulled over by an officer is to always remain respectful. But you are not obligated to say anything. You must only provide your license and proof of insurance. If you are asked to step away from your motorcycle, do so. Don’t attempt to talk your way out of a situation. There’s a reason anything you say can and will be used against you.

If you received a ticket while on your motorcycle and have questions about your rights please contact Joel Rabb, Chicago’s Motorcycle Lawyer today.

Motorcycle DUI

Being convicted with Driving Under the Influence is a surefire way to lose your riding privileges. Always remain respectful to law enforcement. However you’re not obligated to speak to the police. You are not required to perform field sobriety tests. You are allowed to refuse a breathalyzer test. Remember that proving you guilty of driving under the influence is the burden of the prosecution. Do not help the prosecution by providing them evidence they can try to use against you. If you are concerned about being convicted with driving under the influence, do not submit to field sobriety or breathalyzer tests. Do not let an officer intimidate you into performing those tests by threatening you with arrest. An arrest will inconvenience you for a few hours. A DUI conviction will take you off the road for months and possibly years.

If you have been charged with a DUI on your motorcycle and have questions about your rights please contact  Joel Rabb, Chicago’s Motorcycle Lawyer today.

Representation of Motorcyclists

As a motorcyclist, you have legal concerns that others don’t understand. You need an attorney who doesn’t merely advertise to motorcyclists. You need an attorney who is a motorcyclist. I represent motorcyclists not only for accidents, DUI, traffic tickets and other criminal matters. I understand the potential liabilities associated with being a motorcyclist. Therefore, the Law Office of Joel Rabb and Associates utilizes attorneys for litigation, business formation, estate planning (wills and trusts), probate matters, real estate transactions… all designed to take the specific legal concerns that affect motorcyclists onto account.

If you have been involved in any legal issues involving a motorcycle and have questions about your rights please contact  Joel Rabb, Chicago’s Motorcycle Lawyer today.

Making his funeral arrangements!

Making an appointment for the motorcycle repairs he's about to be in need of!

Checking on my appointment for the emergency room.

Auditioning for a new "watch out for motorcycles" poster

Making a reservation at his local funeral home

Proving he doesn’t deserve that bike if he has to text instead of enjoying the freedom that comes from riding

He's calling his lawyer for the accident he's about to create.

He got that texts saying “come over no ones home”

He’s getting ready to take a selfie for the gram! Isn’t that what all the “real” bikers do these days?

What about the guy next to him, driving a vehicle on the phone next to a motorcycle on the phone

Well Ill be damned…. I done got me my first tinder match! Set this moe on 65 and get on back to her. She can be my next Barbara Jean! She's hotter then a hoochie coochie. More chins then a chinese phonebook

He must be calling the lab to see if his brain is done yet !!!!🤦

"Honey, have that bathroom clear when I arrive! Imma be about five minutes!"

He’s testing the new “ drive by wire app” on his phone.

Googling how do I stop since my left hand brake is a clutch and not in fact s brake like on my Huffy.

He’s YouTubing: “how to stop a motorcycle”.

Seeing if he can actually save 15% or more in 15 minutes with geico. Even though he probably won’t last another 15 seconds

Doing the same thing the person who is driving and taking a picture.

Shooting a new progressive commercial mayhem pop up n a second now

Rolling a joint

Watching Son's of Anarchy on Netflix…

Updating his Tinder profile photo… swipe right if you'd like to ride this hog.

Sends message “Honey, going out to buy milk. Be home in three days”

The new autonomous Harleys are being tested, putting in a change of destinations

I know that guide for " how to stop a motorcycle " was on here somewhere … Alexa you suck

I’m a Motorcyclist, so please understand a few things…..

The two-car lengths I leave between the car in front of me isn’t for you to cut me off! Contrary to popular belief, I cannot stop my bike on a dime!

I speed up when in your blind spot, not to race, but so you can see me.

When in the left lane, I ride in the right track (close to the yellow line) and usually 5-10 mph over the speed limit. This way I only have to worry about people on my right side, and I have somewhere to go when you decide to crowd into my lane!

Please put your phone down and stop texting, because the life you save may be mine or yours.

Remember to share the road.

When making a lane change, please use your mirrors and turn signals, I recommend utilizing them and the neck the good Lord gave you instead of just taking position in the very lane I possess.

Some of us ride with high-beams on at all times, this is so you can see me day or night!

If you think my exhaust pipes are too loud, ask yourself if you saw me first or heard me first?

So please watch out for this Motorcyclist and all my Brothers and Sisters during this riding season. We are all someone’s husband, mother, father, wife, son, daughter, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, niece, nephew, neighbour or best friend. We will all be better off, and we will be alive to come home to our loved ones.

It doesn’t matter who has the right of way because either way, we lose.

If you’re my Motorcyclist friend or a conscientious cager and agree, please feel free to copy and paste…

There are few things stronger than the love between brothers and a man and his motorcycle. This bike may look odd to some … the man pictured wearing the helmet designed and built 90% of it himself. The reason this is significant is because this man is 100% blind. Now, with a little help from his brothers, he is able to feel the wind just like them.

The front engine is an empty case. Mostly used to store tools and parts. The bike can be ridden solo, but the throttle, clutch, and shifter are double linked to the rear so he can pull it through the gears on the open road.

Do I have your attention? If so, that’s good start. Folllow me here:

I can’t not stress enough the importance of carrying high uninsured/underinsured liability coverage. If someone else driving injures you, you are trusting that they have adequate insurance. The reality is that most people don’t….and your insurance only covers you when you’re at fault. You need to protect yourself

The difference between having $20,000 uninsured motorist coverage and $500,000.00 uninsured motorist coverage is usually about $50 per year for your car policy and $200 for your motorcycle policy. ONLY $50 MORE PER YEAR!! This is how you protect yourself when others motorist don’t carry enough coverage.

Don’t wait, don’t think twice. Call your insurer and increase your coverage. They will usually allow you to pay the increases incrementally over 12 months. Your cost: $5 per month more for you auto, and $17 per month for your motorcycle policy. Don’t wait.

This weekend, we ride together. Thank you to all who lost their lives in service to this country.

URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL MOTORCYCLISTS:

With the upcoming riding season fast approaching, please heed the following advice. Call your insurance company. Make sure that you have high uninsured/underinsured limits.

What is high? At least $250,000.

Why? Because you don’t want to rely on some motorist who has no driver’s license and no insurance to be able to cover your damages when he causes an accident that injures you. The uninsured/underinsured coverage makes sure that you have money available to you for damages regardless. Don’t put your trust in strangers. You have it within your control to make sure you are adequately covered.

For a few extra dollars a month, you’re covered. Do it.

As you get back on the road this spring, keep in mind that car drivers haven’t seen motorcycles for a few months. They’re more likely to not see you (more so then normal). So be proactive, stay safe and ride free See MoreSee Less

IMPORTANT SPRING ADVICE: Carry a subtantial about of Uninsured Motorist Insruance.

Call your insurance company. Check to see how much uninsured motorist coverage your policy carries. This is the money that protects you if you are injured by an motorist who has little or no insurance.

Most people’s policies only cover around $20,000. That’s not even enought to cover an emergency room visit in the event of an accident. Protect yourself. No one else will.

Been there! The prick that ran into me had only the state minimum and that ran out FAST! Underinsured is not expensive and of course I learned the hard and painful way. I could have been paid.

What to do in the event of an accident:

Below are some guidlines to keep in mind if you are involved in a a collision:

Write down all witnesses’ full names, addresses and phone numbers. After the passing of time, witnesses often disappear or are unwilling to get involved or cannot exactly recall what they saw or heard.

Gather Evidence. Write down the specifics of the incident. Take pictures of all vehicles, including license plates. Photos of skid marks are also important.

DO NOT talk to other side’s insurance adjustor or the insurance company’s attorney until you have spoken with our Office. Speaking to the insurance adjustor or the insurance company’s attorney may limit or prevent your right to a fair recovery. After an accident call our Office at 312-593-8661

Call an attorney you know and trust,

We have the experience and resources to help you and your family. After an accident call our Office at 312-593-8661
