Chicago's Motorcycle Lawyer

Not just a lawyer who rides, a rider who practices law.

As a life long motorcycle enthusiast, I have experienced things on two wheels most people have not.  This unique perspective is what gives me a level of expertise in legal issues and cases that motorcyclists face when they get into an accident or get a ticket while on two wheels.

Insurance agencies are not looking out for you. They are looking out for themselves and their bottom line. You need an attorney that not only understands the law, but as a motorcyclist, also understands the traffic dangers caused by drivers and distracted motorists to provide you with motorcycle legal advice.

Motorcycle Accident Injuries

Not all injuries resulting from motorcycle collisions are immediately realized. A motorcyclist can walk away from an accident and still suffer from latent injuries. Examples of some of those injuries are concussions, fractured vertebrae, herniated discs, back injuries, and injuries to muscles and tendons. It is important to seek medical attention immediately following an accident.

Motorcycle Ticket Defense

Let’s be honest, as motorcyclists, we know that we are often the subject of more attention from law enforcement than car drivers. Maintaining your license and therefore your freedom of movement is dependent on keeping a clean driving record. The rule when pulled over by an officer is to always remain respectful. But you are not obligated to say anything. You must only provide your license and proof of insurance. If you are asked to step away from your motorcycle, do so. Don’t attempt to talk your way out of a situation. There’s a reason anything you say can and will be used against you.

Motorcycle DUI

Being convicted with Driving Under the Influence is a surefire way to lose your riding privileges. Always remain respectful to law enforcement. However you’re not obligated to speak to the police. You are not required to perform field sobriety tests. You are allowed to refuse a breathalyzer test. Remember that proving you guilty of driving under the influence is the burden of the prosecution. Do not help the prosecution by providing them evidence they can try to use against you. If you are concerned about being convicted with driving under the influence, do not submit to field sobriety or breathalyzer tests. Do not let an officer intimidate you into performing those tests by threatening you with arrest. An arrest will inconvenience you for a few hours. A DUI conviction will take you off the road for months and possibly years.

Representation of Motorcyclists

As a motorcyclist, you have legal concerns that others don’t understand. You need an attorney who doesn’t merely advertise to motorcyclists. You need an attorney who is a motorcyclist. I represent motorcyclists not only for accidents, DUI, traffic tickets and other criminal matters. I understand the potential liabilities associated with being a motorcyclist. Therefore, the Law Office of Joel Rabb and Associates utilizes attorneys for litigation, business formation, estate planning (wills and trusts), probate matters, real estate transactions… all designed to take the specific legal concerns that affect motorcyclists onto account.

If you have been involved in any legal issues involving a motorcycle and have questions about your rights please contact  Joel Rabb, Chicago’s Motorcycle Lawyer today.
